1- Is this product a coating? How long will it last?
The product is absolutely NOT a coating! Therefore, it is not removed from the oor. The oor interacts with Rubicon which is stopped with introduction of a neutralizer.
Rubicon is cleaned by transforming into water or salt upon introduction of neutralizer. It is cleaned, and leaves no water or salt residues –though not harmful– on oors. As it is not
a coating, it can be used on the surface for a lifetime. It is certified up to 2 years depending on its area of use.
2- How many hours and days does it take for the oor to dry and be ready for use upon application?
It is kept on the application surface for 30 minutes average without being dried, then it is cleaned, and the oor is ready immediately after cleaning. As it is not a coating, you do not need to wait for it to cure for a long time. The application area will be inaccessible for no more than 1 hour in the end of which time it will be accessible and ready for use (This is average time for 100 square meters which may change depending on size of area).
3- Will dirt, stain or filth accumulate on the surface after application?
This product functions to increase the number of microscopic pores available on the application floor. Accordingly, if the existing stone surface does not allow accumulation of any dirt or stain, then it will not accumulate dirt and stain after application, either. There will be no change on the existing floor.
4- Is it applied on wet surfaces only? Can it be effective on oily surfaces such as kitchens, restaurants?
60% of our customers use this product on oily surfaces. EU and US standards can be met on
such surfaces by applying higher doses thus preventing slip risks on oily surfaces.
5- Will the product applied on the surface be deteriorated through use of detergents or cleaning chemicals?
Rubicon is an acidic reaction. As mentioned before, it increases the number of existing pores on the floor, and increases the coefficient of friction without changing texture of the surface. As it is not a coating and it does not provide an artificial anti-slip feature on the surface, no chemical product can deteriorate it. If the chemicals which you use do not damage the surface, then such chemicals cannot possibly damage Rubicon, either. As there is no product on the surface, and the natural structure of stone is maintained, it is not possible to remove it by chemicals.
6- Do any special treatments or chemicals needed for protecting it?
On floors cleaned using a high quality cleaning agent and brush machine, Rubicon can be effective throughout its life. However, any bad chemicals which may leave residues on surface will make all floors slippery. Rinsing such floors will prevent slipping. Oily floors, on the other hand, require more diligent cleaning. Cleaning using a hand brush or brush machine will ensure the product to maintain its effect just like the first day.
7- Will the certificate which will be given upon application protect us against indemnification claims?
In our country, Occupational Safety Laws and Accessibility Laws are and will continue to be harmonized with EU norms. As from 2015, sanctions including fines and business suspension penalties have been introduced under Accessibility Law (Law No. 5378 on the Disabled) and Occupational Safety Law. When any legal proceedings are initiated regarding anti-slip measures on wet and dry floors, the certificate which we issue will evidence that the floor in question has already been subject to anti-slip treatment. In case of use of bad quality products, Joint Health and Safety Unit (OSGB) and Occupational Safety Inspectors will possibly detect use of such bad quality products upon measurements which will possibly result in your facing penalties. Therefore, the result of your applications should ensure 0,5 COF minimum. This will enable you to take preventive measures against all standards which have been introduced by different Ministries under different laws.
8- Can the slipping risk and anti-slip degree be measured?
The anti-slip measurement is performed using special instruments, and though the law stipulates no COF value, the Ministry authorities have indicated that EU norms will apply for coefficient of friction, and that such coefficient of friction will be included in the law under a bag bill to be enforced. The Ministry authorities also emphasised that said standards will be taken as a basis in case of any possible legal proceedings. This application will enable you to take preventive measures against all standards which have been introduced by different Ministries under different laws.
9- Can it be applied of acrylic, plastic, vinyl, wooden, rubber, asphalt, vinylium, metal surfaces?
No. It is not effective on such synthetic floors. You can prefer our product Rubicon M which is suitable for use on such floors. For more detailed information, please visit Rubicon M page on our website, or contact us.
